Programme 02
Mentoring
Too many children lack relatable role models and drift toward harmful influences. Our bespoke TCS mentoring model pairs young people with credible mentors and tailored support — already delivering stronger choices, confidence, and engagement.
The Problem We're Solving
Many students accumulate behaviour points, miss interventions, and disengage without ever receiving meaningful mentorship — contributing to widening attainment gaps, rising exclusion rates, and lost potential.
In 2023/24, school suspensions rose 21% and permanent exclusions rose 16%. Behind each statistic is a young person who needed a different kind of support — not punishment.
Who It's For
The programme specifically serves boys and young men from disadvantaged backgrounds, care-experienced youth, and neurodivergent students who lack consistent adult support for converting potential into measurable progress. These are young people the system has often already written off.
How It Works
- Bespoke 1:1 pairing with trained, trauma-informed mentors
- Structured, outcomes-driven approach using evidence-based tools
- Focus on self-regulation, metacognition, and future planning
- Personalised plans that integrate with school systems for behaviour, safeguarding, and attendance tracking
- Credible role models from the community — mentors who've walked the same path
What Makes TCS Mentoring Different
The TCS model is built on the founder's own lived experience as a care leaver — someone who attended four secondary schools, faced exclusion, and still secured a full scholarship to King's College London. Our mentors aren't delivering a curriculum; they're sharing a life that changed.
Expected Outcomes
- Stronger decision-making and self-regulation
- Increased confidence and school engagement
- Reduced behaviour incidents and exclusions
- Improved attendance and attainment trajectories

Mentoring delivers even stronger outcomes when paired with our other programmes.
